Whitburn have been recognised for their second place at the British Open by West Lothian Council. A delegation from the band attended the council chambers this week to be met by Provost Tom Kerr, Leader of the Council Lawrence Fitzpatrick and Chief Executive Graham Hope. Also in attendance was Kirsteen Sullivan, the council’s deputy leader who led the motion within the chambers to have the feat recognised. Kirsteen has taken a keen interest in the band since taking her place in the Blackburn and Whitburn ward in May this year.

Band Manager Charlie Farren commented; “It was fantastic to be recognised by the council who continue to support us in many ways. We’re proud to represent the county and hope we can continue to achieve things that contribute positively.”

The band’s next contest outing is at the Scottish Open in Perth on Saturday the 25th of November where stiff competition from Scotland, England and the US will look to stop us from recording four consecutive wins.
